Final Cut & Java

That's right, I've purchased Final Cut, a professional video editing suite. Let me tell you, what used to take me five minutes to do in iMovie (edit video blogs) now take closer to two hours inside Final Cut. Now let me clarify, I'm not slamming Final Cut, I love it. There is so much to learn and so many more features to explore and use. I've needed to learn something new and be challenged in my editing. Honestly, it was getting a little too dry for me.

For those of you who know this page exists, I am posting the latest episode of "Where in the Java..." here a week early. I'll keep trying to do this so you can have an "unfair" advantage over the competition. No hints will be given here however, outside of the ones included in the video.

I didn't guess on last week's Java as I was too busy and I wanted to give others a chance. Now I am anxious to find out if my guess is right. I can't wait to see the video (on my blackberry now). Keep up the great work Josh!

Dan, please, do comment! We need this. It's like feeding our egos... OK, maybe not, but you get the idea. As stated here, if you keep watching (let us know by commenting) we'll keep filming. Oh, and be on the lookout for some new stuff that's coming up quick!

Ba ha haaaa!! I like advantages...but, I am a froo-froo drink drinker, be it coffee or alcohol. IE: I don't go to java places 'cause I don't really care for "espresso"...
I miss Cosmic Coffee. :*(
It's heartbreak to me that they closed. *deep, deep sigh*

yes, it's a sad day.
I live right by there too...

But most of the time Scott and I will end up getting a mocha. yes, more of a froo-froo dink. They're more photogenic at these shops - I love how they do the little designs on the top. If you know where this is I highly recommend that you check it out if you want a good java!

Nice editing on this one Josh. It'll be interesting to find out how much faster the process gets over the next few weeks.

ok, who is approving the posts on the Fishers Landing Blog site? Sure is slow. For EP 6 I guessed "Caffe Piccolo Paradiso", but it still has not posted.

Depending on where you look first, Dan, you're the man when it comes to guessing these things!

I know that the editing process will get a lot faster. Especially once I start using a couple of the smart tools they have in Final Cut instead of running through the menus all the time

Great clues! It took me a while to find Sunnyside Plaza (SE 33rd and Yamhill). Stumptown Coffee Roasters appear to have 8 locations in the Portland area and are approximately 2 blocks from the plaza. Great video guys. I enjoyed looking for the Java and actually learned something about the Portland community as I was doing it.
