Mt Hamilton

(Lets get the stupid stuff out of the way here first.) The Mt Hamilton trail is located inside Beacon Rock State Park. The trail head is just North of the day-use parking area. At four miles, this is a good beginner/intermediate trail to accomplish. Hardy Falls/Rodney Falls offers a nice place to relax and cool down - it offers a chance to get your feet wet in Hardy Creek, if you wish. The hike to the top of the mountain is mostly uphill. Above the bridge over Hardy Creek is where the trail splits into two options for climbing the mountain. The so-labeled "Difficult" route is the one you want to avoid. It ends up looping onto an access road/equestrian trail for most of the journey up the North side of the mountain. Instead, be adventurous and try the "More Difficult" trail up the West side. This route offers more scenic views of the Columbia River Gorge. (Heck, it offers views period - the other trail really doesn't. At all.) Time range for hiking: 2-4 hours.

So I conquered this trail today with my friend (or "friend" as some of you call her) Dianna. This was her first "real" hike ever, and I must say, I'm impressed. She made it all the way to the top and back without complaining. She drank all of her water and half of mine (thank you so much... just kidding). I got a couple of pictures of the Gorge, coming soon. I don't have my USB cable for my camera right now, otherwise I would post them RIGHT HERE!

Oh, and for weather in the summer time - it was perfect for the hike today. Couldn't have asked for a better day.

Go check out for the latest video blogs from our Wy'East Campus. And about that - why do they (at main campus) still insist on calling us "Fisher's Landing" when we're really in the heart of Cascade Park? I don't know - maybe you could vote on my poll here...

Yes, it was very fun. And you weren't drinking your water anyway....

Yes, I was drinking my water. I was conserving for hiking back down the darn mountain. But you slammed your whole water down at the top of the mountain.

That's a "cute" story with a "liberal" use of "quotes"
:)

Okay, first off, let me say that I changed the link to Micah's site so that people can put a name, and if they go to your site, a face, with your comments. I've removed the "aka: whatever" now that it's been there a few days. Second off I'm pretty sure that Dianna is correct in saying that you really should think about what it is your posting and that there will be people from the church checking this blog out, so don't get mad at her. She's just saying that for people that don't know you, they don't know HOW you say things.

If you read my comment - for the record - I was never mad at you. I know you're offended, and you really shouldn't be. Oh, Dianna and I are not officially dating either, and no, I won't always take her side. That's part of a healthy relationship. She's not mad at you either. We're just trying to show you that it's more than three people reading these posts/comments. I'm not leaving you "up the Willamette" either. I also don't want people to never come back because of comments here, and yes, Living Hope people really do care. I hear about them caring every Tues at Living Free. That's a small percentage of the people who care too. Just food for thought, dude.
